  • 23 Apr 2013
  • 7:00 PM
  • Taylor Little Theater: Mercyhurst University
Rosalind Creasy, the national expert who coined the term “edible landscaping” in the 1980s speaks on Transforming your Home and Health through Edible Landscaping. Individuals can change their home and neighborhood environment into a source of fresh fruits and vegetables, transform their lifestyle toward healthy foods and physical activity, and collectively change Erie’s urban and suburban environment. A book signing of the 2010 edition of her 1982 classic, “Edible Landscaping,” follows her talk. Books also will be available at the Mercyhurst bookstore.

All events are free and open to the public, at Mercyhurst University, 501 East 38th Street, Erie. The events are sponsored by Mercyhurst Sustainability Office, Mercyhurst Institute for Public Health and the Evelyn Lincoln Institute for Ethics and Society. Mercyhurst Institute for Public Health and the Erie County Department of Health are also partners in an Academic Health Department.

“Mercyhurst University has focused on environmental efforts on campus for many years, and Earth Day is the perfect time to extend our efforts and help improve our Erie community by bringing high-caliber speakers and their expertise, again this year,” noted Brittany Prischak, Mercyhurst Sustainability Officer.
