Free Workshop: Teach the Teacher
Leadership in Building Energy Efficiency
Free three-day workshop in May to learn to teach Leadership in Building Energy Efficiency (LBEE), a course developed by Penn State’s Architectural Engineering faculty with funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The purpose of the workshop is to prepare faculty/instructors to teach LBEE.
The LBEE course is targeted to graduate and upper level undergraduate engineering students providing hands-on learning about commercial building energy efficiency. The course can be adapted to be taught to a more generalist student body or to those in technical programs at 2 year institutions. Penn State is offering a free 3-day workshop at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia May 23-25, 2016 for higher education faculty and instructors interested in teaching LBEE at their institutions. This is a great opportunity to engage college students in a hands-on curriculum in which they gain the capabilities to conduct basic energy assessments of campus buildings as well as other facilities in their communities. Stipends are available for those traveling from more than 100 miles from Philadelphia.
