2010-2011 PERC Organizational Objectives
Restore functionality and add capability to web site
- Take control over the outdated PERC web site and replace it with a functional modern site
- Immediately deploy a simple site that can expand in capability
- Investigate the deployment of virutal engagement tools like blogs, forums and RSS feeds
Develop an online database/directory of PERC members and sponsors
- Goal: Allow each PERC member associate to update their profile with their areas of interest.
- Motivation: The database will serve to facilitate collaboration around those areas.
- Goal: The database can serve as an “experts resource,” allowing journalists a source for expert perspective on a given topic.
- Goal: Publicity, including web posting and email reminders
- Goal: Online registration, including varying prices for differing PERC constituents.
Implement an E-Newsletter
The newsletter will become a key communication tool supplementing the website by distributing timely information for PERC members, affiliates and sponsors.
- Core and Emerging Team updates
- Member Campus sustainability news
- Reminders of upcoming PERC events
Implement webinars
Member feedback this year included comments about the challenges of travel as well as the request for additional shorter-form programs. Webinars on a particular topic may well solve both of those issues with one device. PERC's pilot webinar, about the ReVision 2010 process, was held in May.
Increase in-person events
Recent years have seen two events per year. In this rebuilding year our goal is to more than double that. Events will include...
- The PERC Annual Meeting,
- A minimum of one event is expected from each of the Core Teams .
- An event (currently in planning stages) on a topic of interest to be announced fall semester 2010.
Increase breadth of membership
- Increase the number of active campuses
- Increase depth of membership
- Increase the number of people involved in PERC at member campuses
Reinvigorate the Core Teams
- Climate Change and Energy Team
- Sustainability on Colleges and Universities Team
- Sustainable Pennsylvania Team (Community Outreach)
- Encourage other, emerging Teams to organize around topics of interest.
