Sustainability Field Conference
With support from our partners, the Center for Land Use and Sustainability at Shippensburg University hosts an annual field conference to highlight sustainability related issues in the region. This conference is open to anyone interested in learning more about our region, including community members, municipal officials, and university staff, students, and faculty.
The second annual Sustainability Field Conference will be held on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018. This one day field conference will focus on the economic benefits of trails, conservation and stormwater municipal planning, sustainable forest management, and the power of collaboration from South Mountain to the Kittatinny Ridge. This field conference will be an all day event 8 am – 5 pm. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided. Please note that we will use shared transportation to visit sites, and some stops will include standing, walking short distances, and/or being outdoors. Click here for a draft itinerary. For details and registration, see https://centerforlanduse.org/sustainability-field-conference/
The cost to participate is $35 per person to support lunch, refreshments, transportation, and organizational costs (this fee can be waived for students). This conference is a wonderful opportunity to learn about sustainability initiatives in the region, network with local municipalities and organizations, and learn about resources available to you and your community. Registration is capped at 45 participants and will close on Friday, May 4th.
