Solve Climate by 2030: Solar Dominance + Civic Action
7pm, April 7 2020

Solve Climate by 2030 is a nationwide program with statewide webinars happening simultaneously across the country.

"University and high school students across the nation, along with faith and community groups, will tune into 52 simultaneous, university-hosted state-wide webinars on an issue critical to their future: how ambitious state and local action can put us on the way to solving climate change by 2030. Faculty across the country, and across disciplines, will assign these webinars as homework, using them as a springboard for discussing climate solutions and energy justice."

This statewide webinar is the Pennsylvania version. Our panelists will address strategies that Pennsylvania should adopt to address climate change in the Keystone State.

On April 7, 2020, colleges in every state in the US will engage in a new set of power dialogs. Solve Climate by 2030, organized through the Bard Center for Environmental Policy, will host a nationally coordinated on-line event with hundreds of participating schools in every state. The Pennsylvania event will be hosted through PERC Member school Penn State. The Pennsylania webinar will focus on strategies that Pennsylvania can adopt to address climate change in the next ten years. Grant Ervin, Chief Resiliency Officer, City of Pittsburgh, will serve as moderator for the evening. Panelists include:

  • Jacqui Bonomo, Executive Director, PennFuture
  • Joylette Portlock, Executive Director, Sustainable Pittsburgh
  • Hannah Smith-Brubaker, Executive Director, Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture

We hope this webinar will set the stage for events on each PERC campus that can become part of this far-reaching initiative. (Note that the timing and scheduling of this event is in the end, up to each individual campus and community, based on their needs and whether they want to coordinate with the national Solve Climate event.) Resources to help with setting up an event on your campus are available at the Solve Climate by 2030 site...

Head here to book a speaker from your State for your event.
There is NO CHARGE for a presentation at your school or community.

Maximize engagement with a One-Night Teach-In on Climate Solutions.
